Wearble Technology: Trend of the Present But Change of the Future

Image
Wearable technology  is a category of technology devices that can be worn by a user and often include tracking information related to health and fitness. The designs often incorporate practical functions and features, but may also have a purely critical or aesthetic agenda. Wearable technology is a field which is not new and has existed since 400 years or so. It is related to both, the field of ubiquitous computing and the history and development of wearable computers. With   ubiquitous computing , wearable technology shares the vision of interweaving technology into the everyday life, of making technology pervasive and interaction friction less. Augmented Reality: The Technology of the Future

Image
Augmented Reality (AR)  is a field of computer research which deals with the combination of a real scene viewed by a user and a virtual scene generated by a computer that augments the scene with additional information. At present, most AR research is concerned with the use of live video imagery which is digitally processed and “augmented” by addition of computer-generated graphics. Even though it is considered a fairly new technology (only 16 years old), it really isn’t that new. Though the term was coined by  Tom Caudell  in 1992, it is said that the first applications actually appeared in the late 1960s and 1970s. By the 1990s, augmented reality was being used for visualization, training, and other purposes. Now the technologies that make augmented reality possible are  powerful and compact  enough to deliver AR experiences to personal computers and mobile devices. Working: In order for AR to work, devices must be connected to the Internet. AR can be accomplished in two dif

APJ Abdul Kalam: A Teacher With a Vision

India has lost her son. The nation is shocked. The youth of India are inconsolable. The children fondly remember their interactions with him. His quotes and speeches are being viewed and shared. Indians are deeply mourning the loss of someone near and dear to their heart. The world joins India in  paying homage  to the departed soul of Late Dr. Avul Pakir Jainulabdeen Abdul Kalam , the Former President of India. I am sure you have read numerous posts about Kalam Sir, since the unfortunate night of 27th July, 2015. So let me tell you a  different story. 2015 saw the Diamond Jubilee celebration in my school and Late Mr. Kalam was invited for the same, to grace the gathering in January. Sadly, I couldn’t get a ticket for the function, but I ensured that I attended the live webcast. The main topic for his inspirational and thought-provoking speech that day was:  Being Unique . He first emphasized on the importance of walking in one’s own shadow. Quoting examples o

A 20-year old’s note!

I turned 20 a week ago. But somehow, this year everything was different. Right from having to write an exam on my birthday, to having my friends over for my birthday party, from surprise gifts to heart-touching poems; it was a short but memorable celebration. But to me, this birthday held more meaning than blowing candles on the cake or partying hard like it was the last day of my life. To me, this birthday was more about celebrating myself. It was about the self-acceptance that I never had before. It took 20 years and 19 birthdays before I learnt to embrace myself, my life and my choices. I know not what brought about this sudden wave of realization. Maybe it was the result of the ripples, the ripples that are formed when people throw stones at you, when they mock you and break you, when they guffaw at your plight, when you see them rejoicing about your failures. I made mistakes, tons of them. But the biggest one, I think, was to fall prey to the world around. They kep

LIFE

What is life? Ever thought of it? Life is more than everything you can ever think of... At times a game, at times a dream Where comedy turns into tragedy... Life is a story... Try and make yours a best seller ;) ************************************************************************ wink emoticon Deceptive illusions and varying perceptions Life is more than just cross-road junctions It is nothing but a whirlwind of danger, that poses To the naked eye like a bed of roses. It is a lot more than just paper, cement and metal That gap between diaper, merriment and petal It is the tango of a smile and some sorrow That forms a wonderful radiating rainbow. Meant to set out all alone on a voyage Life for one ain’t like a colorful canvas image Amidst it all comes and goes a thousand souls That may or may not help one to achieve a goal. A thousand hardships to ensure one’s defeat Each one with warmth and smile one must greet

WOMAN

The shining sun seems to smile down brightly at her While the early morning autumn fog clouds her sight A coffee mug in hand, newspaper fluttering beside Seated on a rocking chair, she wonders at her plight… The scenery outside sure reflects the thoughts in her mind For the contrast both present seem samey to the eyes Besides the window, behind the curtains she smiles with ease But could sense within her a turmoil of emotions rise… Her gaze though seems to wander around the garden below She alone knows of not being in the present, but the past; Introspecting the decisions that once seemed sure to be right One after the other, each mistake seemingly the last… Adored now by the world around for her name and fame Forgotten she hasn’t, the days she had spent in the throes Still hounded by unwelcome memories of mockery and pain As relatives gave woes and friends turned into foes… The journey uphill hav
